Being 72 and having traveled and lived around the world has givin me real appreciation for the freedom of speech we had in America when I was growing up. The censorship now being imposed on us often by people who are not armed with facts able to defend their views in a conversation, scares me. Even scientific research into the ongoing outbreak of the still unproven sars 2 covid virus that could benefit all humanity is blocked from social media. Ivermectin trials continue producing benificial results for those with covid 19 symptons but remains hard to get while the CDC and WHO refuse to recoginize the dramatic results from over 40 trial around the world. Finally in May of 2021 the B.I.R.D. in the UK has forwarded it's recomendation to the WHO to reconcider their position on Ivermectin. Do a little research yourself! This is just 1 example of why we need freedom of speech and ideas to remain the right of all American's. Otherwise money politics will censor information only allowing ideas that lead to their bottom line figure increasing. Please excuse my spelling, my fingers are bigger than the keys on my phone. So I saw Dershowitz plugging his book on Dana or some other commentary show and wanted to read it to understand "cancel culture" and the anti-free speech movement better, and Alan himself. If you've heard this is a defense of Trump on January 6, you've heard wrong. It's a well-developed defense of the first amendment, and Trump's freedom to say what he said on January 6. (Even if--as I agree--AD believes it was stupid and irresponsible to call people to rally on the very day Congress was certifying the election). It's a very believable indictment of the stupidity of impeaching Trump for what he did, and trying him for what was certainly not a high crime or treason. But AD makes it clear through the book that he did not like Trump, vote for him, or appreciate anything he did other than improve peace chances in the Middle East.The book was put together in haste, you can tell, by some silly editorial errors and the pasting in of his newspaper columns. But it's not a hard read, or full of legalese more than an educated reader can understand. I'd like to see this in more school libraries. It would be a better use of librarians' time to order this than applying "woke theory" to the culling of the collection.
